KBL Systems Is Live – Commercial Retractable Structures, Built for Every Project

Benefit-led from pool enclosures to commercial structures. KBL Systems delivers retractable roofs and skylights for hotels, restaurants and aquatic centres across Australia.

We’ve been building telescopic pool enclosures since 2013. Many Australian homeowners have used our enclosures to get more out of their pools year-round. That work gave us a solid foundation: the manufacturer relationships, the technical knowledge, and a clear picture of what these structures can actually do at scale.

Commercial projects were always the next step. Now it’s official. We’ve launched KBL Systems, a dedicated site for commercial retractable structures designed for hotels, restaurants, rooftops, aquatic centres, aged care facilities and more.

What we’re delivering through KBL Systems

The product range covers three main structure types:

1. Freestanding Retractable Systems

Self-supporting telescopic aluminium structures that don’t require attachment to an existing building. Designed for large open spans, they suit a wide range of commercial applications and can be adapted to fit the site, intended use and overall design of the space. Available in manual or motorised operation and finished in glass or polycarbonate.

2. Lean-To Retractable Structures

Telescopic aluminium systems that attach directly to an existing building facade, making them well-suited to terraces, restaurant patios and other outdoor commercial areas. They can remain open in good weather or be fully enclosed to protect from wind and rain when needed. Designed for smooth everyday use with minimal visual impact.

3. Retractable Skylight Systems

Designed to transform interior spaces by introducing natural light, fresh air and a greater sense of openness. Each system is custom-designed to suit the building and project requirements. Open to the sky on good days and fully protected when conditions change, they enhance comfort and flexibility without compromising the experience of the space.

Each system is custom-designed and built in aluminium, available in manual or motorised operation, and finished in glass or polycarbonate.

The manufacturer we work with has over 30 years of experience across more than 40 countries, operating under ISO standards. The quality isn’t something we’re guessing at.

Why it matters for commercial operators

The core problem these structures solve is straightforward:

  • Outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces lose revenue when the weather changes.
  • A covered terrace that can fully open on a good day and fully close when it rains operates more consistently than one that doesn’t.
  • That’s bookings, covers, and utilisation that don’t disappear in winter or drop off in summer heat.
  • Retained heat improves energy efficiency, and a cleaner enclosed environment means less time spent on maintenance.
  • For pool facilities specifically, keeping debris and insects out makes a real operational difference over the course of a year.
